The Global Free Urinalysis Social Innovation Project (GFUSIP): turning existing public toilets into a new entry point for urine health monitoring — a first site validating unstaffed uroflowmetry as a scalable community model

Summary. Since March 2025 a fully automated, unstaffed uroflowmetry unit (Taiwan FDA Class I) has operated in a men’s public toilet at a local health-authority building in southern Taiwan. By August 2026 it had recorded over 3,000 uses; 302 users (9.9 %) completed the optional form, 71.2 % of them aged 50 or under — close to the inverse of the national claims profile. Among 221 interpretable records, maximum flow fell below the 15 mL/s referral threshold in 41–47 % of men in every age band. The abstract argues that removing the clinic barrier changed who is reached, while exposing a second barrier at the data layer: digital participation.摘要。自 2025 年 3 月起，一台全自動、無人值守的尿流速檢測裝置（台灣 TFDA 第一等級）在南台灣地方衛生機關大樓的男廁運作。截至 2026 年 8 月已逾 3,000 人次使用；302 位（9.9%）填寫了選填表單，其中 71.2% 在 50 歲以下——幾乎是全國健保就醫人口的反轉。221 筆可判讀紀錄中，各年齡層均有 41–47% 的最大尿流速低於 15 mL/s 的轉介門檻。摘要主張：移除診所門檻改變了「觸及到誰」，同時揭露了資料層的第二道門檻——數位參與。
